The Title
No luck man. Would get there to San Jose, or 3-4 other cities, however,
Pavones is not in any of the local "mailer's" radar. So, I'm told by the
Post Office, generally well informed, that after arriving in Costa Rica, it
would take a minimum of 7 days, more likely 10+ days, depending on the
remoteness and accessibility. Well, we both know that it takes 4x4's or
bikes to get there, so.... Need to pick a city location and give three or
four days advance notice. Else, you may be able to download the color scan
I sent you, however at 12Megs will take a while. My print looks near
perfect. Love. RT80 Dad.

I've sent your "cop" note to a friend in Mexico City. He assured me that
snakeskin boots and ray bans are standard issue for all Mexican bike
policia...he also assured me that fake cops won't accept bribes of anything
less than US$400 from studly, pasty white Yankeees like you. So you bribed
the real thing. Well done.

Hello there-
PLease remember to include your name so I know for sure who I am writing to...Unless you prefer to be anonymous...(Hmmm...)
As far as bribes are concerned I think the next time I am put in that sort of situation I will play it even cooler...
" No speaky Espanol..."
You see the more time you hold these guys up on the side of the road the less time they have to primp their hair, get their boots shined and to rip off Americans.
As far as the deminished drop rate is concerned...I readjusted the luggage and sent some 20 pounds of excess gear home so I am not as top heavy.
I would like to think I am done with laying her over, but that might be too much to ask...I got chicken legs!

What do you mean post more pictures?! There are like 200 up now...I have another 500 on my computer, but I figured people wouldn´t want to spend an entire day marvelling at my photographic mayhem...
Why don´t you post some pictures of you guys online...on second thought!
Thanks for the blog guys--X

Vinny-
I think Honduras had her fill of me and was ready to show me the door so I took it. Would have surly cally on the ambassador had I recieved the message sooner...Feel free to put me in contact with any other diplomats/ ambassadors...Always helps to have freinds in Latin America.
Remember that Warren Zevon song..."Lawyers, guns and Moneÿ"? After my time in Honduras I have a keener understanding of the lyrics!

HELLO Santi Jr. and William-
Thanks for writing me, I miss Pound Ridge and all you guys a lot!
Hopefully your dad and I will be able to set up a website so you and your class can all ask me questions about the trip and I will be able to send pictures of some of the crazy things I have seen.
My bike is doing fine. I had a little crash now it is not as pretty as your dad´s motorcycle...I like mine sort of scratched up, looks tough!
I had to stop and get some gas because she was running low. Might even have to get some more tomorrow too...can you believe it?!
Miss you guys---hope you are enjoying the winter weather. KEEP THAT HAT ON!
Your buddy-X
